iPod Shufflings: Part Five

Hey everyone!  I'm really sorry about not writing on the blog!  I've been doing the whole "high-school-experience."  Well sort-of.  I'm on winter break now, so maybe I will tell you funny high school stories.  For now, let's  begin the shufflings!

So, in "The iPod Shufflings" I will press shuffle on my iPod and will write a review on the first ten songs.  I have all different genres of music on my iPod including a few classical and several Latin songs.

I will rate the songs from 1 to 5.

5 music notes: Yelling the lyrics on the street at the top of your lungs!
4 music notes: Singing to yourself quietly on the street.
3 music notes: Worth listening to a few times, but not over and over again.
2 music notes: Good at first, but became annoying.
1 music note:   Not good at all.

1.) Don't Bother Me by the Beatles

When I was little I yelled the Beatles at the top of my lungs!  I love their songs so much.  It's impossible for me to not like this song or any of their other songs.

5 music notes *****

2.) The Music of The Night (from the Phantom of the Opera) sung by Michael Crawford

This was from the first Broadway production of the Phantom of the Opera.  Michael Crawford gives a ghostly facade to the song which gives me goosebumps.  The musicians are taking their time with song and you can feel the emotions rolling off the crescendos.  It's a beautiful piece and it worth being applauded.

4 music notes ****

3.) Vienna by The Fray

The song gradually leads up to a melody of flowing drifting chords.  The lead singer, Isaac Slade has a great deep melancholy voice which transcends into a song which I believe is about a couple who have left each other and he doesn't know if he has actually left the relationship.  He hopes that they may still be friends in a few years.  The song is a touching melody with several instruments layering to create a beautiful song.  The song may be a metaphor for something else.  I did a Google search on the meaning of this song and on one website someone said it could be a metaphor for death.

4 music notes ****

4.)  Monster by Lady Gaga

This is a classic Lady Gaga song with the synthesizer and electronic percussion.  This song is about a destroyed relationship and every time Gaga sees him or hears about him walking around town, she tells her friends, "That boy is a monster."

4 music notes ****

5.) She Wolf by Shakira

This song is about a girl who everyone thinks is a very quiet girl, but she is actually a wolf and she as fierce as a she wolf when she is at the clubs and at parties.  She goes hunting for the boys at the night clubs.  She could also be telling girls to let out their inner She Wolves.  "There is a she wolf in your closet.  Let it out so if can breathe."

3 music notes ***

6.) All the Right Moves by OneRepublic

This eclectic style of sound is powerful and charming at the same time, sending the listener into almost a steampunk style of music.  This song to me is about a guy trying to measure up to someone else, and prove that they are worth being with compared to the other guy.  I love this song a lot and it sweeps me away to a place where I can disappear and listen.

5 music notes *****

7.)  Vanilla Twilight by Owl City

This is a very smooth electronic piece.  It's about someone wishing that they could fix the past, because they miss the one they love.  It's beautifully done and it inspires me to do things I never thought were possible.

4 music notes ****

8.) Hotel California by the Eagles

I would hear this song on the radio a lot when I was younger.  No one could ever cover this song because it is the Eagles and it can never be anyone else.  This song is about the living in California and what it's like to live the high life.  Everyone who lives there are "prisoners of their own device." They are stuck there because of what they have done in their lives and of their own cause.  The guitar solo on this song is smooth and awesome.  Definitely in my top songs list.

5 music notes *****

9.) American Idiot by Green Day

This song is about what America really is like.  It's a song of rebellion and strength.  It talks about how materialism is constantly shoved in our face and we are always being told what to do by someone in the government.  They are pushing individuality and that certain things should not be controlled by the government.  "...We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.  Don't want to be an American idiot.  One nation controlled by the media.  Information age of hysteria.  It's calling out to idiot America..."  This is a powerful song and it is absolutely and unequivocally correct.

5 music notes *****

10.) The Creep by Lonely Island featuring Nicki Minaj

Lonely Island is my favorite comedy group, who is extremely creative and talented.  I don't even need to explain the meaning of it because it is so blatant.  This is a hilarious song and from time to time I walk around my house listening to it.   Props to Lonely Island for this hilarious hit!

Google Scribe is not intended for writing full documents.  It is just giving suggestions.

iPod Shufflings: Part 4

Part 4 here we are!  I just had the perfect idea for a logo for this blog post.  I just want to say it's not my logo, it's LMFAO's but I think it fits the blog.  And yes, I did change the blog design!  I wanted you guys to know a little bit more about me and I wasn't happy with my last template.

The Shuffling

1.) I Get Around by the Beach Boys (From the album: The Beach Boys: Twenty Good Vibrations)

This is a song that is the perfect summer song, along with their other song "Kokomo."  They always created the perfect sound that had original lyrics and music.  I was surprised that they could reach those notes at the "oooooooh!!!" parts.  This is a really great summer fun song!

4 music notes ****

2.)  Glitter in the Air by P!nk (From the album: Funhouse)

In all of P!nk's songs that incorporates the piano makes me feel very calm and peaceful.  This one is a beautiful song that really makes me stop.  Her voice is beautiful in this song and I get this sense of pain when she sings it.  It almost has a touch of confusion when she is singing this song.  I love this song.

3 music notes ***

3.) Kiss N Tell by Ke$ha (From the album: Animal)

In my opinion, this is the perfect song for the girl who's boyfriend cheated on her.  She says in this song that it was surprising that he was the one that cheated and that he shouldn't have gone and told his friends about it because she found out.  It is a very good song to dance to and it really shows how angry a girl can get if a boy cheats on her.  So, guys, if you get any ideas listen to this song.

4 music notes ****

4.) All Shook Up by Elvis Presley (From the album: Elvis: 30 #1 Hits)

This is a classic song of the 50s.  I was doing a Social Studies project with my friends on the 50s and this song and Hound Dog were competing for being in the project.  Hound Dog was chosen because of its popularity but I keep this song on my iPod because you can't get rid of one of the king's most memorable songs.

4 music notes ****

5.) Give Me Everything by Pitbull (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, and Nayer) (Single)

This is a definite party song.  I love Ne-Yo's voice, it is one of the few voices that is actual singing and not being auto-tuned.  Some of today's songs are very fun and there's not much to say about them; just like this one.

3 music notes ***

6.) You're Beautiful by James Blunt (From the album: Back to Bedlam)

I love this song!  You've heard me say this so many times before.  This is about a man who saw a girl who was dating someone else and he isn't going to give up loving her.  The music video clears up this song's meaning.  He doesn't believe he will ever be able to be with her so he gives up all of his worldly possesions for her and commits suicide to show how much he loves her.  He says, "I don't know what to do, cuz I'll never be with you."  "But it's time to face the truth, I will never be with you."  It is extremely sad and it makes me want to give him a hug and tell him everything is okay.  This is a song that I sing constantly.

5 music notes *****

7.) Animal by Ke$ha (From the album: Animal)

Wow, double hit of Ke$ha today!  This song is probably her best song yet.  I love the lyrics to this song and the way it starts is extremely different than her other songs.  "I am in love with what we are.  Not what we should be."  It is a song about letting your animal out and she believes in being what we are because we are most beautiful then.

5 music notes *****

8.) Goodnight Goodnight by Maroon 5 (From the album: It Won't Be Soon Before Long)

This is about a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend.  He apologizes for hurting her and he says that there are so many fights that they are loosing the connection they once had.  He wishes that they could fix it.  The lead singer sounds so apologetic and tired when he's singing this song.  It really impresses me.

4 music notes ****

9.) Judas by Lady Gaga (Single)

This is a fantastic song which talks about Mary Magdalene having Jesus as a virtue, but she is slightly attracted to Judas, the demon she clings to.  She then ends of being stoned to death for committing blasphemy, I think...  I love songs that make me want to dance and this song is definitely one of them.

5 music notes *****

10.) In the Next Room by Neon Trees (Single)

Neon Trees always sings without auto-tune and it is genuine singing.  It's about a guy who loves a girl so much that he wants to be with her so much that he wants to break through to the next room.  I sing it out loud whenever I hear it, at least in my head.  ;)

5 music notes *****

The iPod Shufflings: Part 2

Well, this is part two of the iPod Shufflings.  I better let all of you know that my laptop is fried.  It needs a new hard drive, which I can't afford.  So posts are going to be even fewer.  Right now, I am on my mother's computer and I won't be able to come online very often so whenever I am online I will post.  So anyway, let us commence with the shuffling.

The Shuffling

1.) Mona Lisa by The Nat King Cole Trio (From the album: Nat King Cole)
This song is one of my favorites by Nat King Cole.  It has a very uplifting instrumental accompaniment.  Sometimes, my father sings this song and I can't help in joining in.  It is not my favorite song but the lyrics are very meaningful.

3 music notes * * *

2.) The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson (From the album: Number Ones.)

This song has a real beat to it and it is definitely the Michael Jackson we all knew and loved.  I can tell that he really means what he is saying.  You hear the signature shriek in the background which reminds me of  many other Michael Jackson songs.

3 music notes * * *

3.) Hold Me Tight by the Beatles (From the album: Meet the Beatles!)

When I was little, I listened to the Beatles all the time.  I sang there songs all the time.  There was this restaurant down the street from me and had a pianist there taking requests.  I always asked for the Beatles and he gladly obliged.  There singing is singing which you don't hear on the radio anymore.  They are considered legends in the music business.

3 music notes * * *

4.) Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble (From the album: Crazy Love)

Whenever I hear this song, I have to sing.  This song talks about how he has been through many relationships and he is trying to find the right girl for him.  This is a great song and doesn't do what a lot of songs do today.  Have the same lyrics repeating over and over again.  Bravo Michael!

4 music notes * * * *

5.) Stephen by Ke$ha (From the album: Animal)

Ke$ha said in an interview that she actually dated a guy named Stephen and she was slightly obsessed with him.  This is shown in the song and in the music video.  This song is very catchy and she actually sings in this song.  My only complaint is that there are too many unnecessary sound effects.  On the whole, this is an okay song.

4 music notes * * * *

6.) Sleepwalker by Adam Lambert (From the album: For Your Entertainment)

Adam Lambert has always impressed me.  He can sing really well.  A lot of people have let this get past them just because he's gay.  Just put that aside and think about the lyrics.  If it comes back then just imagine he's singing about a girl.  The point I'm making is that he is a great singer and the lyrics are wonderfully written.  He puts a lot of old singing techniques in his songs.  One of which is actually singing!  Great job Adam!

4 music notes * * * *

7.) Little House by the Fray (From the album: How to Save a Life)

I love the music in this song it really grabs me.  The lyrics really show what that they mean what they are saying.  I think they are talking about a girl who is very depressed and she doesn't know what to do anymore.  She is trying to open up and tell someone about what she has been hiding.

3 music notes * * *

8.) Bad Romance by Lady Gaga (From the album: The Fame Monster)

This, in my opinion is one of Lady Gaga's most popular songs.  I sing it with my friends and dance to it all the time.  I know the lyrics by heart and will sing it anywhere at any time.

5 music notes * * * * *

9.) Crank That (Soulja Boy) by Soulja Boy Tell 'Em (From the album souljaboytellem.com)

This is a song that I dance with my friends all the time.  Whenever I hear this song, I can't help but dance.  I don't really sing it though.  It is better to hear this song a few times, not all the time.

2 music notes * *

10.) Bicycle Race by Queen (From the album: Queen: Greatest Hits)

This song drives one of my friends crazy because it's constantly saying, "I want to ride my bicycle."  I do agree the song can get a little annoying after a little bit of time.

2 music notes * *
